Audi India plans to bring out S6 sedan and Q3 SUV next year

German luxury car maker Audi has decided to use sedan S6 and sports utility vehicle Q3 as its two driving forces to attain a 40 per cent growth in sales for the year 2012 in India. The company is all-set to bring out its two models during the Auto Expo that waits round the corner, being slated for commencement on 7th January 2012. "The study is going on to introduce S6 in the Indian market. We are thinking to launch it during the second quarter of next year," Audi India Head Michael Perschke was quoted as saying.
Moreover, Audi is sincerely mulling upon offering a smaller sports utility vehicle (SUV), to the likes of Q3, to the continuously proliferating Indian market, he added. "We may launch Q3 in India very soon. It will most probably come in during the second half of 2012," Perschke said. The company also has in store a concept of the electric hybrid version of A3 that would break its cover at Asia's largest automotive event.

Commenting on the sales expectations of the company, Perschke said that Audi is looking forward to conclude the year 2011 with around 80 per cent hike in sales. It must be noted that the luxury car company recently raced past 5,100 units mark and is optimistic of pushing the figures to 5,400 units till the end of 2012.
As a matter of fact, the company managed to sell-off 3,003 units during the year 2010. "In 2012, the Indian luxury market is predicted to grow by 30-40 per cent. We are expecting a jump of minimum 50 per cent next year that is about 8,000 units," Perschke said. The foreseen sales figures for Audi comprise of 1,500 units that would be contributed by imported models, he added.

Sharing plans of spreading its wings in the country, Perschke said that at the outset the company has 15 dealerships under its belt. However, as the year 2012 culminates, Audi eyes over expanding its network with 23 locations catering to the needs of its buyers in India.
Some time back, Audi India had announced that it has been striving to achieve unprecedented highs in the Indian market and eyes the top spot in the luxury car segment by 2015. Currently, BMW and Mercedes-Benz are leading the race with their position in cement in the country. During the initial months of this year, Audi India came out with the advanced version of its SUV Q5 that was more aggressively priced than its predecessor range.
Thus, Audi is counting on clear cut strategies to raise its bars in India and emerge as an undisputed winner in the coming few years.
