Volcanic rock formations and its numerous cave systems are the main tourist attractions of the Anthargange range. Numerous caves and rocky outcrops will keep any traveler busy with exploration. There are also a few temples and religious sites for the spiritually inclined.

Since the hill range is situated only 70 kms from Bangalore, day trips is the best option. The excellent road network to Kolar and the scenic drive make it worth the visit. For the more daring traveler, activities such as rappelling, high rope traversing, caving and trekking are available.

Toyota Kirloskar to launch Fortuner, Camry and Innova facelifts at the 2012 Auto Expo

Delhi is all set to host one of the most popular auto events in Asia during the first week of January 2012. The Auto Expo is a biennial event that exhibits big brands of cars and bikes. Toyota Kirloskar, one of the largest automobile manufacturers in India, will be a part of this huge event and will introduce upgraded models of Fortuner, Camry and Innova.
Toyota’s sports utility vehicle, Fortuner will be launched with a makeover. This model of Toyota became popular the moment it was introduced in the Indian market. However, the Fortuner will now have a few changes with respect to its exterior features and specifications.

Toyota Fortuner was initially equipped with a manual transmission, which affected the driveability quotient during rush hours in the city. It is now expected that the Fortuner will be launched with an automatic gearbox. Focussing on its exterior features, the Fortuner will come with a changed headlight, front bumper and grille. Furthermore, the specifications of the engine will remain unchanged. Toyota Fortuner will be equipped with a 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine which generates a maximum power of 173 bhp and a torque of 343 Nm.
The Camry model of Toyota Kirloskar is another car which will be at the Auto Expo. Camry has not been doing well in terms of sales and the reason for this is its V6 petrol engine. Furthermore, the price at which it is quoted is a drawback for the sedan. Toyota, while keeping these factors in mind, will launch the Camry with a diesel engine and is likely to compete with Skoda Superb, popular for its engine and interiors.

Toyota Kirloskar is also gearing up to put on display its highly successful model Innova. This model has been in the Indian automobile market for quite sometime. It must be noted that a couple of years ago Innova had been given a slight facelift. This time also the Innova has been revamped with changes at both the front and rear.
The new Innova looks appealing and has stylish exterior features. In India this model of Toyota Kirloskar has been a huge success for the makers.  However, the initial effort of Toyota’s multi purpose vehicle, Toyota Qualis did not taste much success. Instead of being popular as a family car it came to be known as a taxi. To overcome this problem Toyota launched Innova with a powerful engine and exquisite interiors.
The Innova will have a 2.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine and will also provide a petrol variant that will generate a maximum power of 140 bhp.
Thus, Toyota is confident to use the high-scale event in the best way possible and firm its position further in the country.

Peugeot Citroen to grace the Indian market by introducing Peugeot 508 sedan in 2012

The Indian automobile market is most likely to witness PSA Peugeot Citroen introduce Peugeot 508 sedan in 2012. However, the Gujarat plant of the company will start functioning from 2014. PSA Peugeot Citroen will import the 508 sedan as a completely built unit (CBU), which will be available in both diesel and petrol. The car variants price range will be somewhere between Rs. 18 lacs and Rs. 22 lacs and will compete against Volkswagen Passat and Honda Accord.
PSA Peugeot Citroen is one of the biggest car manufacturers to setup base in Gujarat. The state of Gujarat offers car makers with up-to-date infrastructure and there are many others who have already setup production units in the state. PSA Peugeot Citroen is expected to invest around Rs. 4000 crores and the plant is expected to have an annual capacity to produce 3.4 lac units.
The work at the plant has already started, however, it is still not sure when the mass production will begin. Peugeot has been given a land of around 560 acres at Sanand which is near Ahemadabad. In the beginning the manufacturing unit will be set up on only 292 acres of land that will produce around 1.7 lac units annually.
According to an industry official who is closely associated with this development said, “They've decided to come with Peugeot, because they feel that it has a brand recall in India. They will start test marketing with CBU models from 2012 before the volume models come in.” Although PSA Peugeot Citroen is the last of the top ten international brands to enter the Indian automobile market, it is all set to make it big and gain a strong foothold in the market.

Petrol Cars become Cheaper by Freebies

Petrol cars would be affordable this December due to the discounts and freebies offered by renowned car manufacturers. With price touching the lowest point, buying petrol cars would be a sensible decision as major car manufacturers are planning to increase the car prices by up to 3 percent by the beginning of next year. Freebies and discounts are offered up to Rs. 64,000 by companies like Hyundai, General Motors, Maruti Suzuki, and Honda. As per reports, the companies are planning to clear their stock by the end of this year. The offer includes free maintenance, insurance and benefits like loyalty bonus.

However, diesel car buyers may not be happy as the companies will not be offering any discount on any models. As demand outstrips supply, the car makers are not in a position to offer freebies on petrol cars. General Motors India is offering Rs. 33,000 discount on its Beat and around Rs. 64,000 on its Spark. The U-Va and Aveo becomes cheaper by Rs. 54,000 and 62,000 respectively. Up to Rs. 56,000 discount is provided on the Chevrolet Optra. Even Honda Siel is not lagging behind as its Civic and Accord sedans would attract customers with its free GPS system.

Hyundai, the second largest car manufacturer of India, is offering Rs. 34,000 off on its Santro and Rs. 50,000 off on i10 hatch. Even Verna petrol has become cheaper during this December by Rs. 10,000. Maruti Suzuki hopes that after March 2011 sales, the December sales would be the highest. Fiat India announces a 2% price hike for January 2012

Joining the league, car maker Fiat India Automobiles officially announced that it would up the prices of its successful vehicles, sedan Linea and hatchback Punto to the tune of two percent with effect from January. The price hike has come in view of the untamed input costs that have forced companies to revise their pricing strategies from the scratch.
"We are going to increase prices of Linea and Punto by two percent with effect from January 1," a Fiat India Automobiles spokesperson said. The company has been struggling against the compressing margins that have come its way in the recent times, he added.
Unreasonable raw material prices is not the only culprit as Indian auto makers' profits have received serious blows from the continuously depreciating Indian rupee against the U.S. dollar.
To negate the adversities, car makers like Mahindra & Mahindra Renault, Nissan Motor, Hyundai Motor, Ford, General Motors and Toyota Kirloskar are also ready to bank on such moves in the near future. These car makers have planned to swell the price tags by up to 3 percent during the start of New Year. Auto major Mahindra & Mahindra informed that the strategy of increasing the ownership cost will blanket its entire portfolio.

On the other hand, Renault India has decided to revise the prices of its sports utility vehicle Koleos, which will add Rs. 1 lac to its price tag from 1st January 2012. It must be noted that Nissan Motor India is planning to add weight to the price of its small car Micra and the petrol model of premium sedan Sunny by up to 2 per cent.
Hyundai Motor India, the country's second biggest car company will also boost the price figures of its vehicles by 1.5 to 2 per cent from January next year. Ford India announced a rise in prices for its complete range of models by 2 to 3 per cent.
Following the trend is General Motors India that recently confirmed a swell in prices by 1 to 2 percent from January 2012. As a matter of fact, the cost of Beat diesel model will be hiked by Rs. 15,000.
Thus, a hike in prices of cars in India has surfaced as the last resort for car companies that are severely burdened under the menaces that have had an upper hand from quite a long time

Volkswagen mulls upon introducing Seat in India

The Volkswagen Group does not seem to be contained by the laurels that have come its way in the recent past, as news of its Seat brand being introduced in India is making the rounds. Besides firming and expanding its market share, at the same time, the company would be exposed to the advantages of economies of scale on a larger level. Thus, the Seat products would significantly serve as a tool to cut down the input costs for Volkswagen.
However, Volkswagen admitted the fact that the Spanish brand would be facing strong winds as it works upon embedding its name in the Indian auto market. Moreover, as VW and Skoda compete in the same area, the journey would become tougher. But, VW believes that counting on its unique styling; Seat will be able to grab the attention of young car buyers.
Volkswagen board member Christian Klingler tipped-off that Seat has planned it big as it would be making its debut landing in China, before tapping the rapidly growing Indian market. While Volkswagen rides high with 12.1% boost in its worldwide sales this year, on the contrary, Seat has lagged behind with a lax growth rate of 2.3%. Therefore, finding a place in the coveted markets would aid the brand in strengthening its figures considerably.

New Volkswagen
New Volkswagen

Seat gears up with a line-up that befits India in much or less every sense. The Ibiza hatchback would be placed within the Volkswagen Polo's range, while the Exeo saloon has been positioned between the Jetta and Passat. In addition, the Alhambra MPV is likely to stare at the sales of Toyota Innova and Tata Motors’ Aria.
As Maruti Suzuki India Ltd and Volkswagen parted their ways, the growth path for the latter, in the densely populated small-car market, appeared hazy. However, betting on the Up hatchback that unwrapped at the Frankfurt Motor Show of late, Volkswagen hopes to take situations under control. As a matter of fact, Skoda has already launched the Citigo, which has been pitched against the Up, and Seat, too, possesses the Mii that is expected to fall in the same category.
These models have engines and a number of components in commonality that would again help in attracting greater economies of scale. The Volkswagen Group has given a nod for a humongous investment of $86.4 billion or approximately`4.56 trillion over the coming five years.
Thus, with Seat being added to its portfolio in India in the coming time, VW will head towards dominating the first spot by 2018.

Audi India plans to bring out S6 sedan and Q3 SUV next year

German luxury car maker Audi has decided to use sedan S6 and sports utility vehicle Q3 as its two driving forces to attain a 40 per cent growth in sales for the year 2012 in India. The company is all-set to bring out its two models during the Auto Expo that waits round the corner, being slated for commencement on 7th January 2012. "The study is going on to introduce S6 in the Indian market. We are thinking to launch it during the second quarter of next year," Audi India Head Michael Perschke was quoted as saying.
Moreover, Audi is sincerely mulling upon offering a smaller sports utility vehicle (SUV), to the likes of Q3, to the continuously proliferating Indian market, he added. "We may launch Q3 in India very soon. It will most probably come in during the second half of 2012," Perschke said. The company also has in store a concept of the electric hybrid version of A3 that would break its cover at Asia's largest automotive event.

Commenting on the sales expectations of the company, Perschke said that Audi is looking forward to conclude the year 2011 with around 80 per cent hike in sales. It must be noted that the luxury car company recently raced past 5,100 units mark and is optimistic of pushing the figures to 5,400 units till the end of 2012.
As a matter of fact, the company managed to sell-off 3,003 units during the year 2010. "In 2012, the Indian luxury market is predicted to grow by 30-40 per cent. We are expecting a jump of minimum 50 per cent next year that is about 8,000 units," Perschke said. The foreseen sales figures for Audi comprise of 1,500 units that would be contributed by imported models, he added.

Audi 1
Audi 1

Sharing plans of spreading its wings in the country, Perschke said that at the outset the company has 15 dealerships under its belt. However, as the year 2012 culminates, Audi eyes over expanding its network with 23 locations catering to the needs of its buyers in India.
Some time back, Audi India had announced that it has been striving to achieve unprecedented highs in the Indian market and eyes the top spot in the luxury car segment by 2015. Currently, BMW and Mercedes-Benz are leading the race with their position in cement in the country. During the initial months of this year, Audi India came out with the advanced version of its SUV Q5 that was more aggressively priced than its predecessor range.
Thus, Audi is counting on clear cut strategies to raise its bars in India and emerge as an undisputed winner in the coming few years.

The engineers at the Hero Honda did all they can to give this machine a macho, international look. The front headlamp is a great job indeed and Hero Honda brings modern day superbike style to India with it. The other attractive feature is the perfect carving of the body and bold new graphics. The rear suspension comes in a dash of red. Under the rear suspension, muffler is sparking with new heat shield in classy chrome finish. The front panels of the Karizma R are amazing.

Apart from breaking the 200cc barrier, the bike breaks fresh grounds in the acceleration front. 0 - 60 Kmph in 3.8 Seconds which is perhaps the best in the similar kind of bikes. Likewise 0-100 kmph in just 14.05 seconds and 0-400 kmph in just 18.79 seconds. Maximum Speed is 125.6 kmph. Braking on the Karizma is superb and it is designed to bring this bulky 150kg-bike and rider to rest from 60kph in 19.84 metre

Now look at the suspension in the motorbike. Ride for the pillion is equally comfortable as the rear suspension is generally set perfectly for the average Indian pillion. Riding posture is a bit sporty but comfortable. Karizma Ris relatively heavy and stable bike which is more due to long wheelbase that keeps it well planted to the ground even at high speeds.

Pros

The looks of the bike is sporty. In spite of high engine cc it gives fuel efficiency.

Cons

Hero Honda Karizma is not that good in its acceleration as compared to other high quality features but it goes well on high speeds. The bike feels less stressed even on long distances. No leg guard

MODIFICATIONThe Best bike in my opinion that could be modified. The power flowing is comparitievely good for the Indian Roads, but still for those who require more, could get it with the help of a power filter. K & N is the best option. The power delivered by a power filter fitted karizma is just exceptional. The other part of Modification includes stylizing the bike with stickers. Here Iam sharing the pictures of some modified Karizmas...

STUNTING

With the sort of power delivered Karizma could be turned into a very good stunting bike.
